August 14

This morning we woke and began preparations to head across the lagoon to Raiatea. There was still a good wind blowing 15k with gusts to 20k and whitecaps were visible in the center of the lagoon. We hoisted the dinghy motor and the dinghy and dropped the mooring ball at 8am. By 9:15 we were tied up to the fuel dock and taking on diesel. After we had fueled we moved over to the next dock which has transient space for 8 hours or less and we tied up there and went food shopping and visited the bank to recover our caution bond (the money we gave them when we arrived in Fr. Pol to assure we would not stay too long - if you don't leave on time you don't get the bond money back).

We then motored over to the NW side of Raiatea and took another mooring ball just in front of the Moorings charter base marina (Apooti Marina). After a rest and some organization we are going to put the dinghy back in the water and head over to the marina to use their internet machines to update our web site, if it is running today.
